Hell's Gate National Park

Hell’s Gate National Park is centralized around the Hell’s Gate Gorge.  The park is unique because it allows you to walk or bicycle through the African savanna, abundant with large animals.  Marking the entrance of the Gorge is Fisher’s Tower.  Legend has it that Fisher’s Tower is actually a young Maasai woman who was cast into stone because she did not want to marry a fearless warrior.

The year round wildlife includes Lion, Leopard, Cheetah, Buffalo, Giraffe, Hartebeest, Baboons, and Zebra.   Hell’s Gate is one of the few places to see Klipspringer Antelope and Chanler’s Mountain Reedbuck.

The small 27 sq. miles that make up Hell’s Gate National Park can be found 55 miles from Nairobi near Lake Naivasha.  The reserve is accessible by car (1 1/2 hours from Nairobi) or by scheduled flights from Nairobi’s Wilson Airport.
