Congo Nile Trail

Opened at the end of 2011, the 140 mile Congo Nile Trail provides visitors with a unique opportunity to explore the beautiful mountains of Rwanda.  The trail starts in Rubavu and ends in Rusizi, running along the continental divide, which allows guests to come face to face with this unique and untouched wilderness.

The trail is a comfortable hike usually taking 10 days or 6 days by mountain bike.  With 8 base camps conveniently spread along the trail, there is no need for porters, although they are available at affordable rates.  Additional there are three side trials that will take you to interesting views and sites along the trail.

The trail requires a moderate level of fitness.  Arrangements can be made for individuals or groups that may not be able to hike or bike the entire trail.  The trail starting point is 90 miles from Kigali.
